MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's soccer team lost a hard-fought 2-0 Northern Athletics Conference contest to the Edgewood College Eagles on Saturday afternoon at Breese Stevens Field.

The Eagles (9-4-1, 6-1-1 NAC), who are tied for the fewest losses in the NAC, scored both of their goals in the first half. Kelsey Beck's tally at 16:16 gave Edgewood a 1-0 lead. EC’s final goal came from Abby Moder at 25:13 as the hosts built a 2-0 advantage at halftime.

The Warriors displayed solid defense throughout the second half of action, holding one of the conference's best teams off the scoreboard. Junior Katie Sloan (Omaha, Neb./Nebraska Lutheran) made 10 saves while facing 28 shots for the Warriors. Junior Meta Kolander (Brookfield, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) attempted both of WLC's shots in the opening half.

Beck and Tammi Hagensick each finished with six shots to lead the Eagles.

Wisconsin Lutheran (4-12, 2-8 NAC) hosts Benedictine University at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Warrior Field in its final regular-season home game of 2009. WLC concludes its season a week from today, traveling to Mequon, Wis., to battle the Concordia University Wisconsin Falcons at 1 p.m.
