MILWAUKEE – After Wisconsin Lutheran College tied the game at 2-2 early in the second half, the visiting Aurora University Spartans scored three straight goals on their way to defeating the Warriors 5-2 on Wednesday night in a Northern Athletics Conference game at Warrior Field. The Warriors jumped out to an early 1-0 lead over the Spartans at 3:26. Junior Jake Parnau (Milwaukee, Wis./Greendale) connected on a penalty kick after he was fouled in the box. Aurora knotted the contest at one apiece at 16:51 and grabbed a 2-1 halftime lead after netting a goal with three minutes left in the first period. Junior Cameron Teske (Crete, Ill./Illinois Lutheran) tied the game back up at 2-2 when he tallied a score 3:17 into the second half on freshman Kaleb Buch’s (Manitowoc, Wis./Lutheran) second assist of the season. The Spartans regained the lead less than a minute later and proceeded to net goals in the 77th and 80th minute, respectively, to hand WLC the defeat. Parnau finished with three of the Warriors’ nine shots in the game. Matt Eisold (Burlington, Wis./Burlington) made 12 saves in 82 minutes of action. Senior Alex Vogel (Jackson, Wis./Kettle Moraine Lutheran) also finished with a save. Justin Pederson recorded a goal and two assists, along with a team-high six shots for the Spartans (9-5-1, 5-4-0 NAC). Wisconsin Lutheran (3-11-2, 1-7-1 NAC) faces conference foe Concordia University Wisconsin on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. in Mequon, Wis., in its final road contest of the season. |
