Madson leads three Warriors at Lawrence Viking InviteApril 24, 2010Senior ties for 32nd in 71-player field
HORTONVILLE, Wis. – The Wisconsin Lutheran College men’s golf team had three players compete at the 12-team Lawrence Viking Invite on Saturday amidst blustery conditions at Eagle Creek Golf Club. Senior Kyle Madson (Madison, Wis./Lakeside Lutheran) led Wisconsin Lutheran by tying with three other players for 32nd place in the 71-player field. Madson fired an 86 to finish 14-over on the par-72 course. Sophomore Henry Tews (Campbellsport, Wis./Campbellsport) carded a 98 (+26), while freshman Mitch Vomhoff (Watertown, Wis./Lakeside Lutheran) rounded out the field for WLC by shooting a 124 (+52). Carthage College captured the team championship after it combined to shoot a 306 (+18). Carthage’s Donnie Langland took home meet medalist honors after he carded an impressive 69 to finish at -3. The Warriors did not qualify for a team score at the event. Wisconsin Lutheran concludes its spring season on Monday, April 26 when it competes in the American Family Classic at Meadowbrook Country Club in Racine, Wis. The event is hosted by UW-Parkside. |
