Senior trio named to 2009-10 NABC Honors Court

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Wisconsin Lutheran College senior men's basketball student-athletes Shawn Glasel (Appleton, Wis./Fox Valley Lutheran), Sam Siemers (Nicollet, Minn./Minnesota Valley Lutheran) and Ben Ziesemer (New Ulm, Minn./Minnesota Valley Lutheran) have been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) 2009-10 Honors Court, the organization announced Monday.

The NABC Honors Court recognizes those collegiate basketball student-athletes who excelled in academics during the 2009-10 season. In order to be named to the Honors Court a student-athlete must meet a high standard of academic criteria which includes: academically a junior or senior and a varsity player, a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the 2009-10 academic year, matriculated at least one year at their current institution and a member of an NCAA Division I, II, III or NAIA Institution.

Glasel played in 23 of 24 games during the 2009-10 campaign, appearing in the starting lineup five times. He averaged 3.0 points and 3.4 rebounds per contest for the Warriors, who finished with an overall record of 9-15. Siemers, a Northern Athletics Conference Honorable Mention selection, started all 23 games he played in, finishing second in scoring (14.4 ppg) and first in rebounding (5.8 rpg). Ziesemer, who started every game for WLC as a senior, was third on the team in scoring at 13.0 ppg. He finished second in the NAC by draining 64 three-pointers.

Wisconsin Lutheran was one of six NAC institutions that had student-athletes represented on the Honors Court.
