Women's Cross Country competes at NCAA Midwest Regional
Schumacher's personal-best time paces Warriors

The Warriors finished their 2011 season Saturday in Rock Island, Ill. ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College women’s cross country team concluded its 2011 season Saturday afternoon at the NCAA Division III Midwest Regional at Saukie Golf Course in Rock Island, Ill.
Leading the way for the Warriors was sophomore Alyssa Schumacher (Johnson Creek, Wis./Lakeside Lutheran) with her personal-best 6k time of 24:15.6 for 90th place out of 264 runners. Crossing the line next for the Warriors in 25:28.3 was freshman Sarah Frelich (Maribel, Wis./Denmark) for 157th.
Next for the Warriors was senior Amy Martin (Algoma, Wis./Manitowoc Lutheran), finishing her cross country career in 241th place with a time of 28:38.8. Rounding out WLC lineup at 29:37.4 was sophomore Chris Sosinski (Antioch, Ill./Shoreland Lutheran).
Winning the 38-team competition was Washington University as it placed five runners in the top 10 for a team-score of 24. Wis.-Eau Claire was the meet runner-up with 124 points. Wis.-Oshkosh senior Christy Cazzola was the overall race winner with her 6k time of 21:31.1.
