Women's Golf finishes season at NAC ChampionshipOctober 4, 2008
JANESVILLE, Wis. – The Wisconsin Lutheran College women’s golf team concluded its season on Saturday after placing fourth at the two-day Northern Athletics Conference Championship at Glen Erin Golf Course. Freshman Emily Busler (Oregon, Wis./Luther Preparatory) placed 12th overall among 31 players to lead WLC, shooting consecutive round scores of 114 and 122. Shannon Buboltz (Appleton, Wis./West) finished with a two-round score of 245 for 15th place. Joanna Mews (Oregon City, Ore./Evergreen Lutheran) and Cassy Dencker (Jackson, Wis./Kettle Moraine Lutheran) finished in 18th and 21st place, respectively. Anna Baxter (Oregon, Wis./Lakeside Lutheran) carded a team-best round score of 107 in her only round of competition. A total of eight teams were represented at the championship, but only five teams had enough players to qualify for a team score. The Warriors, who placed fourth ahead of Benedictine University, carded a combined team stroke total of 973, shooting 19 strokes lower in round two (477) than in round one (496). Aurora University was named the team champion after shooting a team total score of 798, 72 strokes ahead of runner-up Edgewood College. Muriel McIntyre of Concordia University Wisconsin earned medalist honors after carding rounds of 80 and 88, respectively, on the par-71 course. |
