Bill Curtis is in his seventh year as Director of Athletic Development at Wisconsin Lutheran College. He oversees athletic sponsorship efforts, including the Believe in the Green initiative for Warriors Athletics. He also serves as head softball coach at WLC, a position he has held since the 2012 season.
During Curtis' six seasons at the helm of Warriors softball, he has accumulated 107 wins and guided WLC to two NACC Tournament appearances.
Curtis guided the 2014 Warriors to a program-record mark of 27-16 and was named NACC Co-Coach of the Year. The Warriors also finished 16-6 in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference games, matching the 2008 team for most conference wins, and earned the No. 2 seed in the NACC Tournament. WLC set several single-season school records including batting average (.346), slugging percentage (.452), on-base percentage (.412), hits (400), runs (289), and RBI (227).
Twelve Warriors have received all-conference honors during Curtis' six seasons as head coach.
Curtis came to Wisconsin Lutheran College after serving for four seasons (2008-2011) as the head girls' varsity softball coach at nearby Wisconsin Lutheran High School.
Curtis received a bachelor of science degree in elementary education from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 1980. Since 1983, he has held sales management positions in the Milwaukee area with Airborne Express, Corporate Express, Pilot Air Freight, and most recently, Unishippers. In addition, Curtis has managed and coached the Masters swim program for the Southwest YMCA.
Curtis and his wife, Jean, currently reside in Franklin. They have two older sons, Jake and Bill, and a daughter, Jinny.
