NEW ORLEANS (WLCSports.com) - The Wisconsin Lutheran College men's and women's cross country teams have been recognized by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) as All-Academic Teams, the organization announced Friday. This is the sixth straight season that both teams have achieved All-Academic status.
The Warriors men's cross country team posted a team GPA of 3.44, while the women's team compiled a team GPA of 3.46. WLC was one of 176 men's teams and 221 women's teams to be recognized by the USTFCCCA. The Warriors were just one of two NACC teams to have both teams honored.
For a team to be considered for this distinction, it must have competed and compiled a team score at an NCAA Regional meet and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.10 on a 4.0 scale.
Individually, Jacob Jodat (Pewaukee, Wis.) was named as an USTFCCCA Cross Country All-Academic Individual. one of 668 Division III men and women to be honored. Jodat capped off an historic career at the NCAA Division III Midwest Regional with a 22nd-place finish in a personal-best, school, and conference record time of 24:11.8.
In order to qualify for this honor, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of 3.30 and finish in the top 25 percent of their respective regional championship meet.
