Eamon McKenna

  Assistant Coach

Eamon McKenna is in his first season as an assistant coach for the Wisconsin Lutheran College men’s and women’s track & field teams.

McKenna has spent the past seven years coaching cross country and track & field at various levels. Most recently, he was an assistant cross country coach at Mount Mary College for two seasons (2009-2010).

Prior to his time with the Blue Angels, McKenna was an assistant boys and girls cross country coach at his high school alma-mater, Oconomowoc, from 2004-2008. He was also the boys track & field distance coach for the Raccoons.

McKenna was a very successful runner at both the collegiate and high school levels. A four-year letterwinner in cross country and track & field at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, McKenna was a four-time NCAA Division III All-American (three times in track & field and once in cross country). He served as team captain of the Titans 2002 NCAA Division III Cross Country Championship team and was the WIAC champion in the 5K in 2003.

McKenna has received several accolades, including Verizon Academic All-American (2002-2003). WIAC Scholar-Athlete (2002) and Wis.-Oshkosh Senior Scholar-Athlete (2003). He graduated from Wis.-Oshkosh in 2004 with a bachelor of science degree in education.

During his high school career, McKenna captured two conference championships in track & field, while also being named two-time First Team All-Wisconsin Little Ten in cross country. He placed 14th at the WIAA Division I State Cross Country Championships in 1998 and third in the 3200-meter run at the 1999 WIAA Division I State Track & Field Championships. 

McKenna, who was born April 23, 1981, currently resides in Milwaukee where he is a Spanish teacher.
