Carruthers, Fleming Claim NACC Football Weekly Honors

WAUKESHA, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - Wisconsin Lutheran College's John-Marcus Carruthers (Fayetteville, Ark.) and Grant Fleming (Kaukauna, Wis.) have been named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Football Offensive and Special Teams Student-Athletes of the Week for the events of Oct. 9-15, as selected by the league's sports information directors.

Carruthers rushed for a season-high 174 yards on 27 carries in WLC's 22-19 victory over Concordia Wisconsin Saturday. The rookie running back averaged 6.4 yards per carry and found the end zone once. He also caught two passes for 23 yards, totaling 197 yards on the afternoon

Fleming connected on all three of his field goal attempts in WLC's victory over CUW. He made good on field goals of 20, 25, and 26 yards in slick conditions, including two field goals in the fourth quarter to secure the victory.

The Warriors (2-4, 2-1 NACC) seek their third straight win Saturday when they host Lakeland (4-2, 2-0 NACC) at 1:00 p.m. on Hall of Fame Day at Raabe Stadium.
