Fred Gladney is in his second season as wide receivers coach for the Wisconsin Lutheran College football team.
Three of Gladney's receivers earned postseason recognition from the NACC in 2016, with Theo Belhomme being named Second Team All-NACC and Andy DeNoyer and Alex Foster receiving Honorable Mention status.
Gladney came to Wisconsin Lutheran after a successful playing career at Valparaiso University, a Division I FCS member of the Pioneer Football League. In four seasons (2011-2014) with the Crusaders, Gladney hauled in 89 receptions for 974 yards and six touchdowns while playing in 30 career games.
Gladney led the team in nearly every receiving category his junior season before suffering a season-ending injury with five games remaining. In just six games, he caught 32 passes for 515 yards and five touchdowns, including a career-high 183 receiving yards vs. William Jewell.
A four-year letterwinner at Dominican High School in Whitefish Bay, Gladney was a First Team All-Midwest Classic Conference selection at defensive back as a senior and garnered Second Team All-Conference honors as a wide receiver during his junior campaign. He also lettered in basketball and track & field for the Knights.
Gladney, who earned an exercise science degree from Valparaiso in 2014, is a fitness professional at the Wisconsin Athletic Club.
