FOND DU LAC, Wis. - Freshman Garrett Ralston (Machesney Park, Ill./Harlem) fired an 11-over 155 to lead the Wisconsin Lutheran College JV men's golf team to a fourth-place finish at the Marian Fall Invite.
Ralston carded a five-over 77 in the opening round and was tied for fifth place going into Monday's final round. He stayed consistent in the second round, shooting a 78 to finish alone in fifth place out of 44 individuals.
WLC's golfers shot a combined score of 651 over two rounds to place fourth in the six-team field. Senior Dan Leiberis (Manchester, Conn./Manchester) recorded the third-best round in the field Monday with a three-over 75 to finish tied for 11th.
Senior Gordon Tews (Campbellsport, Wis./Winnebago Lutheran) finished with a 172, junior Brett Morris (Burlington, Wis./Catholic Central) shot a 176, sophomore TJ Obbink (Cedar Grove, Wis./Cedar Grove-Belgium) carded a 179, and freshman Matt Kuzniar (Arlington Heights, Ill./Rolling Meadows) shot 190 for the Warriors.
Carthage won the event with a combined score of 613 as it had five top-10 finishers. Carthage's Ryan Wolfe was the top individual finisher with a five-over 149.
The Warriors men's golf team will return to action at the Benedictine Fall Invite Sunday at St. Andrew's Golf & Country Club in West Chicago, Ill.
