Volbrecht Voted NACC Coach Of The Year For Third Time In Four Years

WAUKESHA, Wis. - After leading the Warriors to a second-straight Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference championship and NCAA Championship appearance, eighth-year Wisconsin Lutheran College head men's golf coach Adam Volbrecht has been named the 2016 NACC Coach of the Year, the league office announced recently. This is Volbrecht's third NACC Coach of the Year honor in the last four seasons.

Volbrecht guided the Warriors to back-to-back NACC titles, as WLC became the third team to repeat as conference champions in the 10-year history of the league. Wisconsin Lutheran overcame a two-stroke deficit after two rounds by firing third and fourth round tournament lows of 298 and 313 to win the title by 14 shots over runner-up Edgewood. WLC's third-round 298 (+10) was a NACC Championship record and its four-round total of 1232 is the lowest in the NACC in the four years playing the current tournament format.

Wisconsin Lutheran begins first round play at the 2016 NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship on Tuesday at Mendon Golf Club in Mendon, N.Y. The Warriors' first tee time is scheduled for 1:20 PM EST. Follow live scoring at WLCSports.com.
