Men's Golf Honored With GCAA All-Academic Award

MILWAUKEE (WLCSports.com) – The Wisconsin Lutheran College men's golf team was named a 2016 All-Academic Team, as selected by the Golf Coaches Association of America on Wednesday. WLC was one of 38 NCAA Division III teams to be honored this season.

To be honored, a team must achieve a cumulative grade-point average of 3.00 or higher. To be eligible for GCAA All-Academic Team honors, a college or university must submit the GPAs for each player on its official squad list for the academic year.

The Warriors, who were one of four teams from the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference to receive the honor, posted a cumulative team grade-point average of 3.364. All 11 players on the roster achieved at least a 3.0 grade-point average, while eight were recognized as NACC Scholar-Athletes.

Embry-Riddle Prescott posted the highest overall team GPA for all divisions with a 3.787. A record 209 teams submitted GPAs of 3.00 or higher to earn All-Academic Team recognition.

The Warriors begin their 2016 fall season on Thursday, September 1 with a match-play event against Webster at Glen Erin Golf Club in Janesville.
