Men's Golf Opens With Fourth-Place Showing In Janesville

JANESVILLE, Wis. ( – The Wisconsin Lutheran College men's golf team opened its 2016 fall season with an impressive fourth-place showing at the Culver's-Edgewood Fall Classic at Glen Erin Golf Club on Friday and Saturday. The Warriors fired rounds of 299 and 302, totaling a 601.

  • Top WLC Individual: Tyler Wood (+7), T-10th of 91


  • Tyler Wood (Eagan, Minn./St. Croix Lutheran) tied for 10th overall and was the low scorer for the Warriors, carding rounds of 73 and 76 for a 149. 
  • Damon Gnewikow (Warrens, Wis./Tomah) led the Warriors after the opening round with a 72, and finished tied for 14th overall with a total of 150.
  • Derek Disch (Greenfield, Wis./Martin Luther) tied for 18th with a 152 (78-74).
  • Tim Pridemore (Hartford, Wis./Hartford) shot a 153 for a 23rd-place tie his WLC debut, lowering his second-round score by five shots.
  • Ben Landvatter (Watertown, Wis./Luther Preparatory) finished one shot behind his teammate, earning a tie for 25th with a 154 (76-78).
  • Garrett Ralston (Machesney Park, Ill./Harlem) turned in a 160 (76-84) and Austin Busler (Oregon, Wis./Oregon) a 167 (83-84). 
  • The Warriors shot an opening-round 299 and trailed first-round leader Elmhurst by eight strokes heading into final round play.
  • WLC ended the second round with a 302, finishing one shot behind UW-Stout for third place in the tournament.
  • Elmhurst won the tournament by two strokes over Webster (587-589).
  • Webster's Zac Ciesia claimed medalist honors with a 140 (69-71) to finish two-under.



  • The Warriors will compete next Friday and Saturday in the Tim Kopka Memorial Tournament at Randall Oaks Golf Club in West Dundee, Ill. Tee times are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. each day.
