Wood's Strong Final Round Leads Warriors At Pinehurst Intercollegiate

PINEHURST, N.C. (WLCSports.com) - Tyler Wood (Eagan, Minn./St. Croix Lutheran) tied a career-low with a 73 in the third and final round of the 2017 Pinehurst Intercollegiate to lead the Wisconsin Lutheran College men's golf team in a field of 13 Division I teams at the three-round tournament. The Warriors finished 14th with a 985 (328-329-328).

  • Wood posted a three-round 233 (78-82-73) to lead the Warriors with a 37th-place finish in the 82-player field. His third-round 73 tied for the third-lowest of the day.
  • Garrett Ralston (Machesney Park, Ill./Harlem) totaled a 249 and carded consecutive round 81s after opening with an 87.
  • Derick Disch (Greenfield, Wis./Martin Luther) finished with a 252 (83-81-88), Tim Pridemore (Hartford, Wis./Hartford) recorded a 256 (85-85-86), and Damon Gnewikow (Warrens, Wis./Tomah) tallied a 260 (82-85-93).
  • Ben Landvatter (Watertown, Wis./Luther Preparatory) competed individually for the Warriors, posting a 273 (93-86-94).


  • The Warriors competed at the Pinehurst Intercollegiate for the fourth straight year.
  • The teams played 36 holes on Friday and the final 18 on Saturday. 
  • Wood's third-round 73 was the lowest round by a Warrior ever at the Pinehurst Intercollegiate. His three-round total of 233 also ranks second-lowest.
  • Ball State won the 14-team event with a three-round 882 (300-290-292). Elon's William Harwood earned the top individual honors after carding a three-round 216 (73-72-71) to finish at +3.



  • The Warriors continue their spring break trip in North Carolina on Tuesday when they compete against Lake Forest and North Park at Southern Pines Golf Club. First tee times are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. CST.
