Gronholz's Golden Goal Garners NACC Weekly Award

WAUKESHA, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - Wisconsin Lutheran College junior Isaiah Gronholz (Watertown, Wis./Lakeside Lutheran) has been named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Men's Soccer Student-Athlete of the Week for the events of Oct. 24-30, as selected by the league's sports information directors. This is Gronholz's first career NACC weekly award and the first for a Warrior since the 2014 season.

Gronholz netted the golden goal in the 95th minute of overtime to send the sixth-seeded Warriors to a 3-2 upset win over third-seeded MSOE on Sunday in the NACC Tournament First Round. WLC overcame a 2-0 deficit with 24 minutes left in the second half to win its first-ever NACC Tournament game in four previous tries. Gronholz tied a match-high with six shots as WLC defeated MSOE for the first time since 2007.

Gronholz and Wisconsin Lutheran (9-7-4) travel to top-seeded Dominican (12-2-3) on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. for a NACC Tournament Semifinal showdown. Links to live stats and video will be available for the contest at WLCSports.com.
