MILWAUKEE (WLCSports.com) – Wisconsin Lutheran College freshmen men's soccer players Teon Fountain (Madison, Wis./Memorial) and Erek Lehnen (Fort Myers, Fla./Southwest Florida Christian) have been named to the 2016 NSCAA All-Wisconsin teams, as voted on and announced by the state's NCAA Division III men's soccer coaches.
Fountain, a First Team All-NACC selection who played a vital role in the Warriors' backline, garnered Second Team All-Wisconsin honors. He started 17 of 22 games played, and, in addition to helping aid in five shutout victories, the newcomer scored the game-winning goal on September 24 at Rockford. Fountain was second on the team with 19 shots on target and third with 43 shots.
Lehnen, a Second Team All-NACC honoree, received Honorable Mention recognition on the All-Wisconsin teams. He started 20 of 22 games played in the net for the Warriors and posted five shutout victories. The rookie led the NACC with 132 saves and was fourth with a .795 save percentage. Lehnen recorded 10 or more saves in four matches, including a season-high 22 on October 15 at Aurora. He accounted for all nine of the Warriors' wins in 2016.
The All-Wisconsin teams are compiled based on NSCAA All-Region voting by coaches of all Wisconsin NCAA Division III schools.
The Warriors finished their 2016 season with an overall record of 9-8-5 and a 4-4-2 mark in the NACC, reaching the NACC Tournament Final for the first time. WLC has finished with a .500 or better overall record for five straight seasons.
