Men's Soccer Dominates Sabercats, 3-0

MILWAUKEE (WLCSports.com) – The Wisconsin Lutheran College men's soccer team scored three goals on its way to a 3-0 non-conference victory over Maranatha Baptist at Warriors Soccer Field Saturday night. 

THE BASICS

  • Final Score: Wisconsin Lutheran 3, Maranatha 0

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Warriors struck first when Ryan White (East Troy, Wis.) found the back of the net off a cross by Yussef Sahraoui (South Milwaukee, Wis.) in the 1' minute for his third goal of the season.
  • Neither team would score a goal for the remainder of the half, as the Warriors led 1-0 heading into halftime.
  • In the second half, the Warriors would strike again as Juan Serna (Milwaukee, Wis.) beat the goalie in the 51' minute giving WLC the 2-0 lead.
  • WLC would score once more in the 82' minute on a thru-ball by Serna that found Jacob Bruecker (Sheboygan, Wis.) who fired it into the back of the net, giving the Warriors the 3-0 victory. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

  • The Warriors out-shot the visitors by a final tally of 39-3, with 11 shots being on goal.
  • 12 different WLC players registered shots in the contest.
  • Erek Lehnen (Fort Meyers, Fla.) corralled one save in goal.
  • The Warriors totaled 12 corner kicks, while only allowing two for the Sabercats.

FOR THE FOES

  • Daniel Kroll recorded the lone shot on goal for the Sabercats.
  • Andrew Taylor collected eight saves in net.
