Warriors Fall In Season Opener To Foresters

LAKE BLUFF, Ill. (WLCSports.com) – The Wisconsin Lutheran College men's tennis team lost its season-opening non-conference match 9-0 to the Lake Forest Foresters Saturday evening at the Racquet Club of Lake Bluff.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Foresters won all nine matches against the Warriors, including three victories without losing a game.
  • The doubles team of Matt Plaski (Milwaukee, Wis.) and Jonny Wordell (Mequon, Wis.) fell 8-2 in No. 2 doubles while the No. 3 doubles team of Jeremy Ryno (Grayslake, Ill.) and Grant Fleming (Kaukauna, Wis.) fell 8-1.
  • Ryno fought at the No. 4 singles position, but fell 6-2, 6-3.
  • Plaski fell 6-2, 6-0 in his No. 5 singles match.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

  • The match marked the second meeting all-time between the two teams, with Lake Forest earning victories in both matchups.
  • It's the third straight season the Warriors have started the season on the road. 

UP NEXT

  • The Warriors have two weeks off from competition before they host Illinois College February 18 at Elite Sports Club in Brookfield. The Blueboys (0-1) fell to Simpson in their first match of the season.
