STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The Wisconsin Lutheran College men's and women's track & field teams wrapped up its 2014 indoor season by competing in two "last chance" events Friday and Saturday. Select members of the teams competed Friday at the Carthage Gill Athletics Final Qualifier, and Saturday and the UW-Stevens Point Pointer Qualifier. Team scores were not recorded for either event.
At Saturday's Pointer Qualifier, Nick Biancuzzo (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Milwaukee Lutheran) broke his own school record in the men's 800-meter run that stood from two years ago with a new time of 1:56.29. Biancuzzo, who placed 18th out of 51 competitors in the race, also owns the top time in the event in the NACC this season.
Highlighting Friday's finishes for the Warriors women's team was Christa Winslow (Dousman, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) and Tori Remstad (South Lyon, Mich./South Lyon) who placed fifth and sixth, respectively, among 15 competitors in the 400-meter dash. Winslow finished in 1:03.66, while Remstad was immediately behind her at 1:03.69.
The weekend events cap off indoor season competition for WLC. Wisconsin Lutheran begins its outdoor season schedule March 28-29 when it competes in the two-day Washington University in St. Louis Invitational.
