PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – Mike Reeves (Hoffman Estates, Ill./Hoffman Estates), Chase Robles (New Berlin, Wis./West), and the 4x200-meter relay team scored first-place finishes to lead the Wisconsin Lutheran College men's track & field team at the Pioneer Open Saturday at Williams Fieldhouse. No team scores were recorded for the meet.
Reeves placed first out of 29 runners in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.09 seconds. He also took fourth in the triple jump in a distance of 12.52 meters and sixth in the long jump with a leap of 5.81 meters.
Robles took home first place in the 5,000 meters with a personal-best time of 15:29.36.
Harrison Fleming competed in the 3,000 meters and his time of 9:37.68 was good for fourth place.
Andrew Stumpner (Crystal Lake, Ill./South) captured sixth in the weight throw with a toss of 12.36 meters. He also competed in the shot put and came in eighth with a distance of 11.89 meters.
Michael Schneider used a jump of 5.61 meters to place eighth in the long jump.
Jared Bruemmer (Hanover Park, Ill./Hoffman Estates) competed in the 60-meter dash and posted a time of 7.53. He also ran in the 200 meters and crossed the line in 24.15.
WLC's 4x200-meter relay team of Bruemmer, Colin Sheahan (Oostburg, Wis./Oostburg), Schneider, and Reeves crossed the line in 1:39.63 to capture first place in the event. The distance medley team of McBee, Jodat, Fleming, and Sheahan took home second place with a time of 11:45.44.
Wisconsin Lutheran returns to competition next Friday, February 6 at the UW-Oshkosh Titan Open in Oshkosh and the Pointer Invite & Multi in Stevens Point.
