WAUKESHA, Wis. (WLCSports.com) – Wisconsin Lutheran College's Ellen Davis (Greendale, Wis.) has been named to the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference All-Freshman Team, it was announced Friday as the awards for the 2017 softball season were released by the conference office.
Davis, who was selected to the 10-member All-Freshman Team as an infielder, led the Warriors in batting average (.390), on-base percentage (.447), slugging percentage (.545), triples (3), and tied for the lead in stolen bases (8). She also tied for third on the team in runs scored (15) and walks (8). Davis' 12 RBIs were good for fourth on the team in 30 games played.
Davis is the sixth Warriors player to be named to the conference's All-Freshman Team in the last six seasons.
MSOE's Emily Snow was named Position Player of the Year, while Benedictine's Holly Haberkorn was named Pitcher of the Year. Cat Klostermann of Dominican was named Freshman of the Year. Kate Heidkamp of Benedictine and Kyle Knoblauch of MSOE shared Co-Coach of the Year honors.
The Warriors finished their 2017 season 15-25 overall and 8-14 in the NACC. Wisconsin Lutheran graduates three players, Kaitlyn Robison (Andalusia, Ill.), Abby Akright (Dunlap, Ill.), and Rachel Christian (Sullivan, Wis.) from itsroster.
