Warriors Open NACC Slate With Win Over Raiders

MILWAUKEE - The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's tennis team opened Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference play by picking up its first victory of the season Wednesday with a 6-3 triumph over MSOE (1-2, 1-2 NACC) at McKinley Park.

Through doubles play, WLC held a 2-1 advantage. The No. 1 team of Kendall Bonnin (Kenosha, Wis./St. Joseph) and Kalyn Geddes (Bend, Ore./Luther Preparatory) were victorious 8-6. WLC followed with an 8-3 win at No. 2 doubles from Petra Krause (Oshkosh, Wis./West) and Susanna Harbach (Nodine, Minn./Luther).

In singles action, Bonnin (6-4, 6-1), Krause (6-4, 6-4), and Geddes (2-6, 6-4, 10-6) each earned a win at No. 1 through No. 3 singles. Bethany Soderlund (De Pere, Wis./Fox Valley Lutheran) also added a 6-1, 6-4 win at No. 6 singles.

The Warriors (1-3, 1-0 NACC) will host a pair of Parents' Day matches Saturday at the Princeton Club in New Berlin. WLC plays host to Benedictine (0-2, 0-2 NACC) at 10 a.m. before batting Aurora (2-1, 2-1 NACC) at 2 p.m.
