Warriors Finish First At Green & White Invitational

SOMERS, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's indoor track & field team scored points in 12 different events Saturday afternoon to secure a first-place finish at the Green & White Invitational hosted by UW-Parkside.

THE BASICS

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Warriors' distance medley relay team placed second finishing in a time of 14:42.00.
  • Sami Huebner (Sun Prairie, Wis.) finished first in the 55-meter hurdles in a time of 9.24, third in the high jump with a height of 1.25 meters, and raced to a fourth-place finish in the 200-meter dash with a time of 27.78.
  • Debbie Miller (Zumbrota, Minn.) finished first in the triple jump with a mark of 9.52 meters. Miller also placed third in the long jump with a distance of 4.50 meters.
  • Leah Rosenow (Temecula, Calif.) jumped to a second-place finish in the long jump with a mark of 4.82 meters. Rosenow also competed in the 200-meter dash placing eighth in a time of 29.65.
  • Jenna Schmitz (Fox Lake, Wis.) placed third in the 55-meter dash with a time of 8.18. Schmitz also finished sixth in the long jump with a distance of 4.41 meters.
  • Kaylyn Shevey (Muskego, Wis.) sprinted to a third-place finish in the 600-meter run in a time of 1:49.49. Shevey also finished fourth in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 10:59.
  • Becca Heller (South Milwaukee, Wis.) also competed in the 600-meter run and finished behind Shevey to place fourth with a time of 2:01.88.
  • Kiana Granath (Lodi, Wis.) jumped to a second-place finish in the high jump with a height of 1.40 meters, placed third in the shot put with a throw of 9.18 meters, and was third in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 9.86.
  • Kailey Acra (Dupo, Ill.) and Kristina Schuette (Manitowoc, Wis.) placed fourth (6:40.46) and fifth (6:54.15) in the mile, respectively.
  • Brooke Malchow (Waco, Neb.) and Kendra Schumacher (Little Chute, Wis.) placed fourth and fifth in the 400-meter dash with times of 1:08.77 and 1:09.20, respectively.
  • Sarah Snyder (Green Bay, Wis.) placed fourth in the weight throw with a distance of 10.19 meters and fifth in the shot put with a mark of 8.02 meters.

UP NEXT

  • The Warriors travel to Ripon next Saturday for the Red Hawk Invite. Events begin at 11:00 a.m. inside the Willmore Center.
