Warriors Fall Twice On Opening Day Of IIAC-NACC Crossover

PELLA, Iowa (WLCSports.com) - The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's volleyball team dropped its first two matches of IIAC-NACC Crossover in Pella, Iowa Friday. In the first match, the Warriors fell to Dubuque, 3-1. In their second match of the day, the Warriors were swept by Loras, 3-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED (DUBUQUE)

  • Wisconsin Lutheran opened play Friday falling to Dubuque 3-1 by scores of 25-22, 25-15, 19-25, and 25-17.
  • Alysha Kahlow (Fond du Lac, Wis.) and Britley Grulke (Hustisford, Wis.) led the attack for WLC, garnering 12 and 10 kills, respectively. Wisconsin Lutheran posted a team-best .265 hitting percentage in the first set behind 12 kills.
  • Courtney Pattison (Prairie du Chien, Wis.) distributed 26 assists, while Heather Warskow (Phoenix, Ariz.) added 12.
  • Morgan Scanlon (Racine, Wis.) collected 21 digs, while three other Warriors registered five-plus digs.
  • Nicole Klipstein (Hartford, Wis.) posted six block assists, while Warskow and Alyssa Charron (Appleton, Wis.) added five each.
  • Karrah Davis paced the Spartans with 26 kills and 12 digs, while setter Alyssa Cose dished out 50 assists and tallied 13 digs.
  • Dubuque, which improved its record to an impressive 14-1, hit a match-high .378 in the final set.

HOW IT HAPPENED (LORAS)

  • The Warriors fell to Loras in three sets by scores of 25-11, 25-23, and 25-23.
  • Grace Tomhave (Verona, Wis.) paced Wisconsin Lutheran with nine kills, while Pattison dished out 14 assists.
  • Scanlon registered 24 digs, while Melissa Ericson (Lisle, Ill.) added 10.
  • Michelle Budden paced the Duhawks with eight kills, while Jessalyn Roling dished out 27 assists. Haley Bergan registered 17 digs.
  • Loras hit a match-high .333 in the first set, registering 14 kills with just three errors. Wisconsin Lutheran was plagued by 27 attacking errors.
