Master tennis professional Jay Massart is in his fifth season as head coach of the Wisconsin Lutheran College men's and women's tennis programs. Massart brings nearly 40 years of tennis coaching and teaching experience to the Warriors.

In his fourth season with the Warriors, Massart guided the men's team to its fifth straight NACC Tournament appearance. Senior Aidan Newberg and junior Connor Heezen collected All-NACC nods.

The women's program made its eighth consecutive NACC Tournament appearance a season ago. Senior Ali Schmidt and freshman Joelle Smith earned All-NACC Singles honors.

A USPTA Certified Master Professional and USTA High Performance Coach, Massart has touched most sectors of the tennis industry from coaching, to managing, to years of volunteer work with the USTA and WTA. Specializing in high-performance tennis, he developed hundreds of nationally ranked juniors who have gone on to college tennis programs of all levels. From 2000-2015, Massart served as the Executive Director of the Milwaukee Tennis & Education Foundation, where he developed an inner-city, nonprofit youth organization into a viable program that sent many players on to college and tennis careers. "I have been one of a lucky few who have been able to turn a childhood passion into a life-long career," stated Massart.

Massart earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of San Diego while playing on the men's tennis team. He currently resides with his family in Wauwatosa.
