Warriors Stymie Stars In Weeknight #NACCtion

MILWAUKEE (WLCSports.com) – Kelly Tramburg (Fall River, Wis.) scored a game-high 18 points and Jenna Mace (Wisconsin Dells, Wis.) added a season-high 16 off the bench to lead the Wisconsin Lutheran College women's basketball team to a 75-38 victory over the visiting Dominican Stars Tuesday night inside the Recreation Complex. The Warriors shot 60 percent (15-for-25) in the second half and held the visitors to just 22.4 percent for the game, clinching their 10th 20-win season in program history.

  • Kelly Tramburg tallied the first seven points of the contest, then Mace buried a triple from the top of the key to put WLC ahead 10-4 with three minutes remaining in the opening quarter.
  • Mace, Kelly Tramburg, and Amanda Brug (Sturtevant, Wis.) converted free throws in the final minutes of the quarter, pushing the hosts advantage to 17-8 after one quarter.
  • The Stars cut WLC's lead to five points, but Maddie Cruz (New Berlin, Wis.) connected on a triple to push Wisconsin Lutheran's lead back to eight with four minutes left in the half.

  • Morgan Tramburg (Fall River, Wis.) scored a fast break basket after a pass from Ally Gough (Horicon, Wis.), then Emily Frey (South Milwaukee, Wis.) converted two free throws, increasing the Warriors' lead to 70-37 with 2:27 remaining in regulation.
  • Taylor Beadles (Stevens Point, Wis.) connected on a triple and Maria Murray (Middleton, Wis.) made a layup in the final minute as the Warriors went on to secure the 75-38 victory.

  • Kelly Tramburg led a balanced scoring attack for WLC with 18 points, while Mace added a season-high 16 points.
  • Dowden rounded out the double-digit scorers with 10 points, five rebounds, and four assists, while Brug scored seven points with a team-high six rebounds.
  • WLC shot 39.7 percent (23-of-58) from the floor and converted 87 percent (20-of-23) of its free throw attempts. The 20 made free throws is a season-high for the Warriors.
