Sheffler Breaks Shot Put Record For Second Straight Week

WHITEWATER, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - Senior Michael Sheffler (Appleton, Wis.) broke his own school record in the Shot Put for the second straight week to lead the Wisconsin Lutheran College men's track & field team on Saturday at the Karl Schlender Invitational. The Warriors finished fourth at the eight-team event with 36 points.

• Final Results: 4th of 8 (36 Points)
• Location: Williams Center, Whitewater, Wis.

• Sheffler finished second out of 20 competitors in the Shot Put with a school-record toss of 14.22m, besting his previous school record from a week ago of 14.05m. He was also sixth in the Weight Throw with a mark of 13.48m. 
• Sophomore Peyton Hartman (Montgomery, Ill.) won the 5,000m in 16:28.28.
• Senior Sam Rodmyre (Federal Way, Wash.) placed fifth out of 20 in the Long Jump with a leap of 6.37m.
• Freshman Adam Kriefall (New Berlin, Wis.) finished fifth in the 3,000m with a time of 9:28.34.
• Freshman Isaiah Herried (Necehah, Wis.) raced to a sixth-place finish in the 800m with a time of 2:05.22.
• Sophomore Zeke Micheel (Salt Lake City, Utah) came in seventh in the Mile with a time of 4:28.05.
• Sophomore August Davis (Springfield, Ill.) placed seventh in the 600m with a time of 1:29.61.

• The Warriors return to action next Saturday for the John Tierney Classic hosted by UW-Milwaukee. Events are scheduled to start at 10 a.m. inside the Klotsche Center.
