Warriors Finish Runner-Up At Outdoor Opener

WAUWATOSA, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - The Wisconsin Lutheran College men's track & field team opened its outdoor season on Saturday with the Meet For Milwaukee, the first of four home events for WLC this season at Raabe Stadium. The Warriors finished second with 83 points at the season-opening event.

• Final Results: 2nd of 4 (83 Points)
• Location: Raabe Stadium, Wauwatosa, Wis.

• Sophomore Jacob Hefle (Germantown, Wis.) won the 200m with a time of 54.41 seconds in his first action of the year.
• Senior Thomas Jungwirth III (Appleton, Wis.) won the 110m Hurdles in a time of 17.96 seconds.
• Senior Michael Sheffler (Appleton, Wis.) won the Hammer Throw with a toss of 38.49m. Sheffler also set personal records in both the Shot Put (12.84m) and Discus (35.98m) with second and third-place finishes, respectively.
• Sophomore Jordan Wiesen (Fort Atkinson, Wis.) was just .05 seconds off a personal best in the 100m after finishing third in 11.37 seconds.

• "The weather was definitely not our friend today, but we put up some great performances! Several PR's and three WLC Top 10 performances to go with four meet records and nine event wins when we only had one-third of our team shows we're starting outdoor ready to go. • The Warriors travel to Hanover, Indiana next Saturday for the Hanover Invitational. Events are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. CST.
