Wisconsin Lutheran Posts Third-Place Finish At Pioneer Open

WAUKESHA, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - The Wisconsin Lutheran College men's outdoor track & field team won two events on Sunday en route to a third-place finish at the Pioneer Open at the Dennis Punches Track and Field Complex. The Warriors finished third out of 11 scoring teams with 89.5 points.

• Sophomore Zeke Micheel (Salt Lake City, Utah) won his debut in the 3,000m Steeplechase at 9:54.10.
• Senior Sam Rodmyre (Federal Way, Wash.) captured the Pole Vault title with a mark of 3.95m. He also took home third in the 110m Hurdles clocking in at 16.36 seconds.
• Sophomore Jordan Wiesen (Fort Atkinson, Wis.) placed sixth in the 100m with a time of 11.32 seconds.
• Freshman Isaiah Herried (Necedah, Wis.) recorded a third-place showing in the 800m with a time of 2:00.07.
• Senior Michael Sheffler (Appleton, Wis.) posted a third-place finish in the Shot Put at 13.69m. He also finished seventh in the Hammer (45.68m) and seventh in the Discus (36.44m).
• WLC's 4x400m Relay team of sophomore August Davis (Springfield, Ill.), Herried, freshman Luke Donart (De Pere, Wis.), and sophomore Hans Rupnow (Mankato, Minn.) was third in 3:37.16.
• Junior Jacob Trietsch (Trafalgar, Ind.) cleared a height of 1.75m in the High Jump for fourth place.
• Junior Thomas Jungwirth III (Appleton, Wis.) posted a fifth-place finish in the 110m Hurdles at 16.78 seconds.
• Sophomores Peyton Hartman (Montgomery, Ill.) and Jaden Schultz (Havana, Ill) along with freshman Adam Kriefall (New Berlin, Wis.) finished fourth, fifth, and sixth respectively in the 5,000m with times of 16:12.55, 16:27.06, and 16:33.80.
• Donart came in fifth in the 1500m with a time of 4:12.86. Davis was also eighth in the same event at 4:20.73.
• Freshman Ben Thoma (Sturgeon Bay, Wis.) raced to a seventh-place finish in the 400m at 55.48 seconds.
• Senior Cole Kuehl (Richland, Mich.) was eighth in the Discus with a toss of 35.99m.
• Sophomore Ryan Klibowitz (Butler, Wis.) placed eighth in the 200m with a time of 23.82 seconds.

• "We finally catch weather above 45 degrees and the team reacted well! 51 PR's, 17 WLC Top 10 marks, and some big event wins were just a few of the highlights. It's a quick turnaround to Thursday, but it will be nice to compete at home where we should be competitive in every event." - Head Coach Eric Kramer

• WLC hosts the Warrior Invitational on Thursday at Raabe Stadium. Field events get underway way 10 a.m. with running events starting at 11 a.m.
