Men's Track & Field Finishes Runner-Up At Green & White Invite

WAUWATOSA, Wis. (WLCSports.com) – The Wisconsin Lutheran College men's outdoor track & field team finished runner-up in their hosted Green & White Invite at Raabe Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The Warriors scored 162 points as they tallied three event wins and eight second-place finishes.

Sophomore Zeke Micheel (Salt Lake City, Utah) captured both the 1,500m and 5,000m titles with finishing times of 4:09.17 and 16:37.46, respectively.
WLC's 4x100m relay team of junior Jalen Harris (Chicago, Ill.), freshman Daniel Deltgen (Janesville, Wis.), and sophomores Ryan Klibowitz (Butler, Wis.), and Jordan Wiesen (Fort Atkinson, Wis.) completed the race in 43.98 seconds to earn a first-place finish.
Wiesen also earned runner-up finishes in both the 100m dash in a school-record 10.90 seconds and 200m dash at 22.14 seconds.
Deltgen earned points in both the 100m and 200m dashes, finishing fifth and eighth, respectively.
Klibowitz finished fifth in the 200m dash with a time of 22.85 seconds and sixth in the 100m dash at 11.29 seconds.
Senior Michael Sheffler (Appleton, Wis.) finished runner-up in both the Shot Put and Hammer while also earning a fifth-place finish in the Discus.
Sophomore Hans Rupnow (Mankato, Minn.) completed the 800m run in 2:03.85 to finish in second for WLC.
Junior Thomas Jungwirth III (Appleton, Wis.) earned points in both hurdle events as he finished runner-up in the 110m Hurdles and fifth in 400m Hurdles.
Sophomore Jaden Schultz (Havana, Ill.) finished second behind Micheel in the 5,000m run, crossing the finish line with a time of 16:50.68.
Junior Jacob Trietsch (Trafalgar, Ind.) cleared 1.65m to finish runner-up in the High Jump.
Freshman Isaiah Herried (Necedah, Wis.) earned a third-place finish in 1,500m and fourth place in 800m with finishing times of 4:14.67 and 2:07.61, respectively.
Senior Cole Kuehl (Richland, Mich.) finished third in the Discus with a mark of 37.11m and seventh in Shot Put with a toss of 10.42m.
The team of freshmen Will Caldwell (Milwaukee, Wis.), Carter Moski (Machesney Park, Ill.), Ethan Howe, and Elijah Strutz (Verona, Wis.) completed the 4x400m relay in a time of 4:23.08 to earn a fourth-place finish.
Freshman Devin Splinter (Ixonia, Wis.) finished fifth in the Shot Put with a mark of 11.72m, sixth in the Hammer at 28.61m, and seventh in the Discus with a distance of 33.16m.
Freshman Ben Thoma (Sturgeon Bay, Wis.) placed seventh in the 400m, crossing the finish line with a time of 55.01 seconds.
Freshman Vinny Brim (Oconomowoc, Wis.) and senior Tim Grant (Sun Prairie, Wis.) placed seventh and eighth, respectively, in the Hammer.

The Warriors will compete next Saturday at the St. Norbert Quad at Donald J. Schneider Stadium in De Pere. Events are scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m.
