Micheel's 5K Title Leads WLC At St. Norbert Quad

DE PERE, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - The Wisconsin Lutheran College men's outdoor track & field team had its final tune-up on Saturday before next weekend's NACC Outdoor Championships. The Warriors battled cold and windy conditions to score 63.5 points and finish fifth at the St. Norbert Quad.

• Sophomore Zeke Micheel (Salt Lake City, Utah) won the 5,000m clocking in at 15:40.94.
• Senior Michael Sheffler (Appleton, Wis.) finished third in the Hammer with a mark of 45.98m. He also finished fourth in the Shot Put (13.34m) and eighth in the Discus (36.53m).
• Sophomore Jordan Wiesen (Fort Atkinson, Wis.) placed third in the 100m with a time of 11.15 seconds.
• Junior Thomas Jungwirth III (Appleton, Wis.) finished third in the 110m Hurdles at 16.44 seconds.
• Freshmen Luke Donart (De Pere, Wis.) and Isaiah Herried (Necedah, Wis.) came in fourth and fifth in the 1500m with times of 4:11.92 and 4:16.05, respectively.
• Sophomore Jacob Hefle (Germantown, Wis.) tied for fourth in the High Jump with a mark of 1.70m.
• Sophomore Jaden Schultz (Havana, Ill.) finished fifth in the 3,000m Steeplechase with a time of 10:45.30.
• Sophomores Hans Rupnow (Mankato, Minn.) and August Davis (Springfield, Ill.) placed fifth and sixth in the 800m with times of 2:02.21 and 2:02.94.
• Senior Cole Kuehl (Richland, Mich.) placed sixth in the Discus with a mark of 38.47m.
• Freshman Ben Thoma (Sturgeon Bay, Wis.) placed seventh in the 400m Hurdles with a 1:01.50 finishing time.

• "It's been a difficult week, especially with the weather for training and competing, but our athletes showed their toughness today. Very happy and impressed with their performances. • The Warriors will host the NACC Outdoor Championships for the sixth time next Friday and Saturday at Raabe Stadium. Events begin at 10:15 a.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. on Saturday. Live coverage links will be available for both days of the championships at WLCSports.com.
