ROCK ISLAND, Ill. (WLCSports.com) - Sophomore Zeke Micheel (Salt Lake City, Utah) set a new school record in the 3,000m Steeplechase on Thursday at the Midwest Twilight Qualifier hosted by Augustana at the Knowlton Outdoor Athletic Complex. Junior Mikaela Sullivan (Wauwatosa, Wis.) also set a personal best in the 800m for the Warriors' men's and women's outdoor track & field teams.
Micheel finished 10th out of 19 competitors in the 3,000m Steeplechase with a new school record time of 9:24.51, besting his own previous record of 9:31.08 from the NACC Championships nearly two weeks ago.
Sullivan placed 15th among 23 runners in the 800m with a personal-best time in the event of 2:21.23. Her previous best was 2:22.64 from the St. Norbert Quad on April 30.
WLC will wait for the official 2022 NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field championship selections to be announced tomorrow in a press release on NCAA.com. The championships will be held May 26-28 at SPIRE Institute in Geneve, Ohio.
