Micheel's Three Titles Lead Wisconsin Lutheran At NACC Championships

WAUWATOSA, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - Sophomore Zeke Micheel (Salt Lake City, Utah) was named the NACC Track Athlete of the Meet after winning a trio of events to lead the Wisconsin Lutheran College men's outdoor track & field team to a sixth-place finish on Friday and Saturday at the 2022 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Championships at Raabe Stadium. The Warriors scored 91 points and had four event victories at the championships.

• Final Results: 6th of 11 (91 Points)
• Location: Raabe Stadium, Wauwatosa, Wis. 

• Micheel became the fifth NACC Outdoor Track Athlete of the Meet in program history after winning the 3,000m Steeplechase in a school-record time of 9:31.08. He also won the 1,500m in a NACC Championship record time of 3:59.14, and the 5,000m in 15:36.52. 
• Senior Sam Rodmyre (Federal Way, Wash.) won the Decathlon for the third straight year with a facility, school, and championship record total of 6,290 points. The total currently ranks 14th nationally. He also placed third in the Javelin with a toss of 46.94m.
• Sophomore Peyton Hartman (Montgomery, Ill.) placed second in the 10,000m with a time of 32:35.16. He was also eighth in the 5,000m in 16:17.15.
• Senior Michael Sheffler (Appleton, Wis.) was runner-up in the Hammer with a toss of 45.43m. He also posted a fourth-place finish in the Shot Put with a distance of 13.53m.
• Sophomore Jordan Wiesen (Fort Atkinson, Wis.) finished fourth in the 200m with a time of 22.67 seconds as well as sixth in the 100m with a time of 11.21 seconds.
• WLC's 4x100m Relay team of junior Jalen Harris (Chicago, Ill.), freshman Daniel Deltgen (Janesville, Wis.), sophomore Ryan Klibowitz (Butler, Wis.), and Wiesen recorded a time of 44.04 seconds for fifth place. 
• Freshman Luke Donart (De Pere, Wis.) raced to a sixth-place finish in the 1,500m with a time of 4:05.22.
• Freshman Isaiah Herried (Necedah, Wis.) earned a seventh-place finish in the 800m with a time of 1:58.02. Herried also finished eighth in the 1,500m with a time of 4:09.36.
• Junior Thomas Jungwirth III (Appleton, Wis.) sprinted to a seventh-place finish in the 110m Hurdles with a time of 16.24 seconds.
• Senior Cole Kuehl (Richland, Mich.) finished seventh in the Discus with a mark of 38.86m.
• Sophomore Jaden Schultz (Havana, Ill.) recorded an eighth-place standing in the 3,000m Steeplechase with a time of 10:26.82.

• The Warriors will next compete on Thursday in Naperville, Illinois at the Carius/Gregory Track & Field Meet hosted by North Central. Field events begin at 11 a.m. with running events to follow at 3 p.m.

MTRACK: @WLC_XC_TF places 6th with 91 points at NACC Championships.
