MILWAUKEE (WLCSports.com) - Senior
Sam Leisemann (Fall River, Wis.) matched a career-high 23 points for the second straight game and Wisconsin Lutheran College cashed in on 21 North Park turnovers for a 71-42 wire-to-wire win on Saturday at the Time of Grace Center.
The Warriors (1-1), who outscored the Vikings (0-3) 20-0 in points off turnovers, never trailed en route to their first win of the season in the final game of the 2023 Paul F. Knueppel Classic.
WLC jumped out to an 8-2 first quarter lead over NPU, as junior
Haley Ott (Germantown, Wis.), Leisemann, and senior
Meggie Scott (Yorkville, Ill.) combined for the team's first 12 points. Junior
Ainsley Howard (Jefferson, Wis.) gave Wisconsin Lutheran its largest lead of the quarter at 15-8 following a three-pointer at the 3:53 mark. The Warriors carried an 18-13 lead into the second quarter.

Lexy Smit (Brandon, Wis.) sent WLC to a 12-point advantage, its first double-digit margin of the game, with 6:39 remaining before halftime. Junior
Mack Hogenson (Neenah, Wis.) put Wisconsin Lutheran in front by 15 points following a pair of free throws at the 4:37 mark. The Warriors went into the halftime break ahead 35-23.
WLC netted the first four points of the third quarter and its lead never dropped below 14 points the rest of the way. Holding at least a 20-point lead over the final 3:00 minutes of the period, Smit gave Wisconsin Lutheran a 54-31 cushion on her second three-pointer of the game with 1:51 left. The Warriors went into the final frame in front 55-34.
A 9-0 scoring run to start the fourth quarter put WLC ahead by a game-high 30 points with 7:10 left on the clock. North Park never got closer than 24 points the rest of the way, as freshman
Courtney Park's (Rockford, Ill.) jumper sent the lead back to 30 points with 2:52 to play.
Leisemann, who was named to the Paul F. Knueppel All-Classic Team, tied a career-high for the second straight game with 23 points on 9-for-10 shooting. Smit was the only other player in double figures with a career-high 10 points. Scott matched a game high with six rebounds, while sophomore
Jayden Hill (Kenosha, Wis.) dished out five assists, also tying a game-high. Wisconsin Lutheran, which shot 42.6 percent (26-for-61) from the floor, outscored the Vikings 42-18 in the paint and 20-0 on turnovers.Â
