RIPON, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - Wisconsin Lutheran College placed fourth out of 11 teams with 47 points at the 2023 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships on Friday and Saturday at the Willmore Center.
Junior
Peyton Hartman (Montgomery, Ill.) earned a gold medal for the Warriors after he won the 5,000m run in a school-record time of 15:12.59. He also finished fourth in the 3,000m with a personal-best mark of 8:53.87.
Juniors
Jaden Schultz (Havana, Ill.) and
Ryan Klibowitz (Butler, Wis.), freshman
Ray Woller (Mount Horeb, Wis.), and sophomore
Isaiah Herried (Necedah, Wis.) posted a second-place finish in the Distance Medley Relay with a school-record time of 10:45.24.
Junior
Zeke Micheel (Salt Lake City, Utah) placed runner-up in the Mile with a time of 4:23.39. He added a third-place finish in the 5,000m with a time of 15:24.21, and was eighth in the 3,000m in 9:03.40.Â
Three other WLC runners scored in the Mile, as Herried was fifth in a personal-best time of 4:24.33, freshman
Josh Staggs (Oostburg, Wis.) was seventh in 4:33.95, and Schultz came in eighth in 4:34.22.
Klibowitz, freshmen
Andy Liu (Bay City, Mich) and
Michael Miller (Waukesha, Wis.), along with Herried came in seventh in the 4x400m Relay with a time of 3:36.62.
MSOE and St. Norbert shared the NACC Indoor Championships team title with 213 points each.
Wisconsin Lutheran competes in a pair of 'Last Chance" meets next weekend, the first being the Firebird Finale on Friday in Kenosha.
