JACKSON, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - Wisconsin Lutheran College continued its spring non-conference slate on Sunday by falling to Wartburg 8-1 at Pleasant Valley Tennis & Fitness Club.

Katelynn Haskell (Santa Maria, Calif.) and junior
Ali Schmidt (Germantown, Wis.) were edged 8-6 at No. 1. Seniors
Izzy Hawley (Allen Park, Mich.) and
Sky Pope (Macon, Ga.) were doubled up at No. 2, 8-4.Â
Schmidt (4-6, 6-4, 10-5) and Hawley (6-1, 2-6, 10-3) both suffered three-set defeats to WC at No. 2 and No. 3 singles. Pope picked up WLC's only victory of the day at No. 4 singles, where she outlasted Wartburg's Tori Johnson 7-6 (7-0), 5-7, 10-8.Â
Wisconsin Lutheran returns to the courts on Friday, April 12 when it travels to Chicago for a 4 p.m. non-conference matchup with North Park (10-3).
