DE PERE, Wis. (WLCSports.com) – Wisconsin Lutheran College saw its 2025 season come to a close on Tuesday with a 4-0 loss to St. Norbert in the First Round of the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Tournament at Green Bay Tennis Center.
In doubles play, the Warriors' freshmen tandem of
Joelle Smith (Milwaukee, Wis.) and
Amelia Kelley (Appleton, Wis.) fell 2-6 at the No. 2 spot, while junior
Lucia Gallardo Martos (Torrejon De Ardoz, Spain) and freshman
Tai Mitchell (Elm Grove, Wis.) dropped a 0-6 decision at No. 3. The No. 1 doubles match featuring senior
Ali Schmidt (Germantown, Wis.) and sophomore
Maddy Olson (Onalaska, Wis.) was left unfinished with WLC trailing 1-5.
In singles action, the Green Knights closed out the match with straight-set wins at No. 4, No. 5, and No. 6. Kelley fell 0-6, 2-6 at No. 4, while Mitchell and Gallardo Martos were defeated 2-6, 0-6 in their respective matches.
The top three singles matches – Schmidt at No. 1, Olson at No. 2, and Smith at No. 3 – were left unfinished with Wisconsin Lutheran trailing in each.
The Warriors, who made their seventh straight NACC Tournament appearance, finish the 2024-2025 season 6-10 overall and 5-4 in the NACC.
