Osuala Breaks 60M Record; Wins Twice At Phoenix Invitational

Senior breaks WLC 60m indoor record at U of Chicago

CHICAGO, Ill. (WLCSports.com) – Wisconsin Lutheran College's Abuchi Osuala (Milwaukee, Wis.) broke the school record in the 60m while winning both the 60m and 200m on Saturday at the Phoenix Invitational hosted by the University of Chicago at Henry Crown Fieldhouse.

Osuala, a senior, topped the 21-competitor field in the 60m prelims with a school-record time of 6.93 seconds. He returned to win the 60m final in 6.86 seconds. Osuala bested his previous school-record mark of 7.01 seconds from the Panther Tune-Up last February.

In the 200m, Osuala won the 26-competitor event with a personal-best time of 22.68 seconds.

The Warriors compete next Saturday, January 17, at the Firebird First at Tarble Athletic and Recreation Center Fieldhouse in Kenosha. Events are scheduled to start at 11 a.m.
