WHITEWATER, Wis. (WLCSports.com) – Wisconsin Lutheran College turned in several strong performances on Friday at the Squig Converse Invite, hosted by UW-Whitewater at Kachel Fieldhouse.
The Warriors were led by freshman
Sam Splinter (Ixonia, Wis.) who stood atop the podium in the Mile with a time of 4:35.88. Senior teammate
Jack Staggs (Oostburg, Wis.) added another scoring effort in the event, finishing seventh in 4:42.43.
In the 5000m, junior
Arnold Rupnow (Watertown, Wis.) captured WLC's second victory of the day with a first-place finish, crossing the line in 15:38.56.
Sophomore
Sam Ehlke (Jackson, Wis.) was sixth in the Triple Jump with a mark of 13.13m.
On the track, Wisconsin Lutheran's top 4x400m Relay team of senior
Isaiah Krenek (Aurora, Ill.), sophomore
Caden Strubbe (Madison, Wis.), freshman
Caleb Schreiber (Mukwonago, Wis.), and Splinter finished seventh overall in a season-best time of 3:36.32.
Sophomore
Nate Nash (Wildomar, Calif.) was the Warriors' top finisher in a pair of throwing events. He was 24th  of 65 in the Shot Put with a season-best toss of 12.40m. In the Weight Throw, Nash was 36th of 64 with a personal-best mark of 12.83m.
WLC will be back in action on Saturday, February 7, when it competes at the Red Hawk Invite at the Willmore Center in Ripon. Field events are scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m., followed by running events at 11 a.m.
