WAUKESHA, Wis. (WLCSports.com) – Wisconsin Lutheran College turned in a strong all-around performance on Saturday, placing third at the Carroll Alumni & Open at Dennis Punches Track and Field Complex.
The Warriors totaled 98.5 points, finishing behind MSOE and host Carroll.
Leading the way was a dominant effort in the 400m, where freshman
Sam Splinter (Ixonia, Wis.) captured the event title in 52.12. Splinter headlined a trio of WLC scorers in the race, joined by senior
Isaiah Krenek (Aurora, Ill.) (second, 52.23) and sophomore
Evan Hadler (Cedarburg, Wis.) (third, 53.22), as Wisconsin Lutheran piled up points in the event.
Second-place finishes also came from sophomore
Caden Strubbe (Madison, Wis.) in the 100m, who finished in 11.11, freshman
Caleb Schreiber (Mukwonago, Wis.) in the 800m, who clocked in at 1:59.49, and Krenek added another podium result with a third-place finish in the Long Jump (6.32m).
Additional third-place points were scored by the 4x100m Relay team of Strubbe, freshman
Andrew Hauser (Grayslake, Ill.), sophomore
Jared Frey (New Ulm, Minn.), and Hadler (44.38), the 4x400m Relay team of freshman
Anders Gabb (Los Angeles, Calif.), senior
Ray Woller (Mount Horeb, Wis.), freshman
Will Kesting (Neosho, Wis.), and senior
Jack Staggs (Oostburg, Wis.) (3:42.78), and freshman
Carson Frisch (Johnson Creek, Wis.), who tied for third in the High Jump (1.75m).

Vaughn Miller (West Allis, Wis.) contributed a fourth-place finish in the 5,000m (16:05.62), while junior
DeShawn Wells (Sioux City, Iowa) placed fourth in the 400m Hurdles (1:14.24) and sophomore
Nate Nash (Wildomar, Calif.) added a fourth-place showing in the Shot Put (12.45m).
Earning additional points for the Warriors were sophomore
Sam Ehlke (Jackson, Wis.) with a fifth-place finish in the 100m (11.48), Hauser (sixth, 23.89), and Frey (seventh, 23.90) in the 200-meter dash. Gabb was sixth in the 400m (54.49 seconds), Nash was seventh in the Discus (34.09m), and Kesting was seventh in the 1500m (4:29.88). Tyler Kleinhans (Fall Creek, Wis.) in the 800m (2:08.68),

WLC hosts the Green & White Invite on Thursday, April 2 at Raabe Stadium. Events are scheduled to start at 10 a.m.
