MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WLCSports.com) – Wisconsin Lutheran College posted 11 top-five finishes on Friday and Saturday at the Marquette Invitational. Team scores were not recorded at the two-day event.
Senior
Abuchi Osuala (Milwaukee, Wis.) led the Warriors with a first-place finish in the 100m, clocking a season-best time of 10.65 seconds. Osuala also added a third-place finish in the 200m of 22.63.
Sophomore
Caden Strubbe (Madison, Wis.) recorded a pair of top-four finishes, placing third in the 400m with a personal-best time of 49.22 and fourth in the 200m with another personal-best effort of 22.68. Sophomore
Patrick Manning-Davis Jr. (Dallas, Texas) was third in the 100m at 11.04 and eighth in the 200m at a personal-best 23.16.
In the hurdles, junior
Brightson Namutenda (Houston, Texas) finished fifth in the 400m Hurdles with a personal-best time of 1:06.12.
Freshman
Ethan Groth (West Allis, Wis.) secured a top-eight finish in the 5000m, placing sixth in 18:18.41.
Freshman
Caleb Schreiber (Mukwonago, Wis.) placed sixth in the 1500m (4:02.24) and
Andrew Hauser (Grayslake, Ill.) placed eighth in the 400m (56.24).
In the field events, sophomore
Cameron Vahldick (Bridgeview, Ill.) recorded a runner-up finish in the Javelin with a personal-best throw of 39.84m. Freshman
Carson Frisch (Johnson Creek, Wis.) placed third in the High Jump with a season-best clearance of 1.80m.
Juniors
DeShawn Wells (Sioux City, Iowa) and
Joe Evans (Irmo, S.C.) were fifth (30,85m) and sixth (24.75m) in the Javelin, while sophomore
John Mullenberg (Chetek, Wis.) was eighth (33.96m) in the Hammer.
WLC also posted top-three finishes in both relays, as the 4x100m Relay team of senior
Isaiah Krenek (Aurora, Ill.), Hauser, sophomore
Jared Frey (New Ulm, Minn.), and Strubbe placed third in 43.68, and the 4x400m Relay team of Schreiber, sophomore
Evan Hadler (Cedarburg, Wis.), senior
Ray Woller (Mount Horeb, Wis.), and freshman
Anders Gabb (Los Angeles, Calif.) finished third in 3:35.71.
Wisconsin Lutheran hosts its own quadrangular on Saturday, April 18 at Raabe Stadium. Events are scheduled to start at 10 a.m.
