Men’s Track & Field Wins Six Events, Finishes Runner-Up At Home Invite

WLC’s 4x100m Relay breaks school record for third straight week

WAUWATOSA, Wis. (WLCSports.com) – Wisconsin Lutheran College turned in a strong all-around performance to place second at the Warrior Invitational on Saturday at Raabe Stadium, winning six events and finishing with 144 points.

Senior Abuchi Osuala (Milwaukee, Wis.) led the way in the sprints, capturing both the 100m in 10.91 and the 200m in 22.17, while senior Isaiah Krenek (Aurora, Ill.) added a runner-up finish in the 100m (11.38) and sophomore Patrick Manning-Davis Jr. (Dallas, Texas) placed fourth in the 200m (22.81).

WLC also claimed the 4x100m Relay title, as Manning-Davis Jr., sophomore Sam Ehlke (Jackson, Wis.), sophomore Caden Strubbe (Madison, Wis.), and Osuala combined for a winning school-record time of 42.26.

In the distance events, junior Arnold Rupnow (Watertown, Wis.) paced a dominant showing in the 5000m with a first-place time of 15:46.92, followed by senior Josh Staggs in third (16:10.89) and junior Noah Micheel in fifth at 16:27.58. Sophomore Cameron Vahldick (Bridgeview, Ill.) added a field event victory in the Javelin throw with a mark of 40.43m, while junior John Varga (Burbank, Calif.) (sixth) and Joe Evans (Irmo, S.C.) (seventh) also contributed points in the event. Freshman Carson Frisch (Johnson Creek, Wis.) cleared 1.80m to win the High Jump.

Additional top-eight finishes came from across the roster, Junior DeShawn Wells (Sioux City, Iowa) placed fifth in the 400m Hurdles (1:09.77), while freshman Sam Splinter (Ixonia, Wis.) (fourth, 1:58.94) and junior Tyler Kleinhans (Fall Creek, Wis.) (fifth, 2:00.83) scored in the 800m. In the 1500m, freshman Vaughn Miller (West Allis, Wis.) finished fifth (4:18.52) and junior Silas Ebeling (Wauwatosa, Wis.) took sixth (4:18.62). The 4x400m Relay added a runner-up finish in 3:32.71. In the field events, sophomore Nathan Stafford (Neenah, Wis.) placed third in the Pole Vault at 3.50m, and sophomore Nate Nash (Wildomar, Calif.) added a fourth-place finish in the Shot Put (12.54m).

Marquette claimed the team title with 156 points and secured three event victories to edge out Wisconsin Lutheran in a competitive meet.

The Warriors compete in a pair of meets next weekend, the Drake Alternative on Friday in Whitewater and the St. Norbert Invitational on Saturday in De Pere.
