GREEN BAY, Wis. (WLCSports.com) – Wisconsin Lutheran College opened its 2026 season with a fourth-place finish at the Tom Barry Invitational on Saturday at Shorewood Cross Country Course.
The Warriors finished with a team score of 104 points in the 5K race. Ripon claimed the team title with 24 points, led by individual winner Joley Berger, who crossed the finish line of the 93-runner field in 18:33.43.
Sophomore
Calliope Horn (San Diego, Calif.) led the way for WLC, placing 16th overall with a time of 20:35.73. Junior
Kirstin Neuwirth (New Berlin, Wis.) followed in 28th place, clocking in at 21:13.58.
Rounding out the top five for Wisconsin Lutheran were sophomore
Maddie Metz (Chino Valley, Ariz.) (34th, 21:40.66), freshman
Annalise Kuehn (Wauwatosa, Wis.) (42nd, 21:58.64), and sophomore
Brooke Hodkiewicz (Oconto Falls, Wis.) (43rd, 22:03.28).
The Warriors will return to action on Saturday, September 19, for the St. Olaf Invitational in Northfield, Minnesota. The women's 6K race is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
