Isaiah Herried is in his first season as an assistant coach for the Wisconsin Lutheran College cross country and track & field programs.
A former standout distance runner for the Warriors, Herried enjoyed a decorated four-year career competing in both cross country and track & field from 2021-2025. He helped the Warriors to four straight runner-up finishes at the NACC Cross Country Championship, while establishing himself as one of the most accomplished runners in program history.
Herried was a 10-time All-NACC honoree across cross country and track & field. He was a four-time All-NACC award winner in cross country, and his track & field accolades included All-NACC performances in the 800m, Mile, 1,500m, and DMR. He was also named NACC Student-Athlete of the Week four times during his collegiate career.
One of the most versatile performers in WLC history, Herried holds school records in the DMR, 4x800m Relay, and 5,000m, while ranking among the top-five all-time in 10 different events. His personal bests include 1:56.74 in the 800m, 4:19.58 in the Mile, 8:45.38 in the 3,000m, 14:45.89 in the 5,000m, and 25:09.0 in the 8,000m.
Excelling in the classroom as well, Herried earned USTFCCCA All-Academic honors in cross country and was named CSC Academic All-District in track & field in both 2024 and 2025.
A native of Necedah, Herried received his bachelor’s degree in Sports Management from Wisconsin Lutheran in 2025. He is currently pursuing his master’s degree in Sport and Recreation Management with an expected completion date of Fall 2026. In addition to his coaching responsibilities, Herried serves as an athletic administrative assistant at St. Marcus Middle School.
