Skylar Kumprey is in her first season as an assistant coach for the Wisconsin Lutheran College women's volleyball program.
Kumprey brings a strong background in coaching and playing at the collegiate, club, and high school levels. Prior to joining the Warriors, she served as a head coach with the Milwaukee Sting Volleyball Club, leading the 15 Gold team in 2025 and the 13 Gold team in 2026, with both squads earning bids to the USA Volleyball Girls Junior National Championship. She previously coached MVP Volleyball Club teams from 2022-2024 and has worked as a private lesson instructor and small group positional coach since 2019. Kumprey also served as an assistant coach at the Badger Region High Performance Camp in 2022 and coached at Sting Volleyball summer camps.
At the high school level, Kumprey was the girls varsity head coach for the SWCHA Saints in 2023 after serving as an assistant coach at New Berlin West High School in 2022.
A collegiate student-athlete, Kumprey played outside hitter at Concordia University Wisconsin during the 2024 and 2025 seasons. She earned College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors and NACC Honorable Mention recognition in 2024 after helping the Falcons finish second in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference regular-season standings. During her two-year career, she appeared in 52 matches and was among the team's top three in kills both seasons.
Kumprey earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religious Studies with a minor in Communication from Alverno College in 2022 before completing a Master of Science in Leadership at CUW in 2026.
A native of New Berlin, Kumprey enjoyed a decorated prep career as a homeschooled student-athlete with the SWCHA Saints. A four-year outside hitter and two-time team captain, she helped lead the Saints to National Tournament championships in 2017 and 2018 and a third-place national finish in 2019. She was a two-time National All-American First Team selection, surpassed 1,000 career kills, and earned the team's MVP Award as a senior.
