MILWAUKEE - The Wisconsin Lutheran College
volleyball team was defeated by the Edgewood College Eagles 3-1 on
Wednesday night in a Northern Athletics Conference match at the
Recreation Complex.
The Warriors came out of the gates and took game one by the
score of 33-31 before falling short in the next three games 30-27,
30-28 and 30-21.
Megan Sankey (Waupun, Wis./Winnebago Lutheran) led Wisconsin
Lutheran's attack with a double-double, finishing the night with 11
kills and 10 digs. Ashley Madsen (Watertown, Wis./Luther
Preparatory) paced WLC with 20 assists, while Jaclyn Sack (Granger,
Ind./Michigan Lutheran) added 14 digs defensively.
Erika Laete (Spokane, Wash./Evergreen Lutheran) and Rachel
Kleinschmit (Oshkosh, Wis./Lourdes) each chipped in with three solo
blocks.
Wisconsin Lutheran (5-15, 4-5 NAC) travels to Hancock, Mich.,
for a trio of non-conference matches this weekend. The Warriors to
face host Finlandia University on Friday night, followed by matches
against Mount Mary College and Northland Baptist Bible College on
Saturday afternoon.
