Men's Soccer nets crucial win over Eagles

MADISON, Wis. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College men's soccer team collected a thrilling 2-1 win over the Edgewood College Eagles in Northern Athletics Conference action on Saturday afternoon at Warner Park.

Darren Festerling's (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) goal in the 77th minute of the second half off of a corner kick put the Warriors in front for good, breaking the 1-1 tie.

Wisconsin Lutheran jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the 23rd minute of the first half when Jake Jankowski (Muskego, Wis./Muskego) found the back of the net on a free kick.

Edgewood tied the score at one when Nick Bourgeois scored off of a pass from Shaun Glynn in the 46th minute.

The Eagles attempted 16 more shots (22-6) in the game than WLC. Matt Eisold (Burlington, Wis./Burlington) stopped four shots in goal for the Warriors.

Wisconsin Lutheran (8-7, 5-2 NAC) will be back in action on Wednesday when it hosts NAC foe Aurora University at 7 p.m.
