ALMA, Mich. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College football team suffered a 28-20 loss to the Alma College Scots on Saturday afternoon on Homecoming at Alma's Bahlke Field.

Wisconsin Lutheran trailed 14-0 after the first quarter as Alma scored two late first quarter touchdowns to go out in front. The Warriors answered back with two scores of their own in the second quarter.

Larry Hairl (Chicago, Ill./Roberto Clemente) scored both of WLC's touchdowns in the quarter, the first coming on a 55 yard run and the second on a 14 yard reception from T.J. Bodnar (Racine, Wis./Park). Wisconsin Lutheran trailed 14-13 as both teams headed into the locker room.

The Scots scored the lone touchdown of the third quarter and took a 21-13 lead into the final quarter. Alma added another fourth quarter touchdown midway through for a 28-13 advantage.

The Warriors scored their final touchdown with 10 seconds to play in the game as Bodnar found Mark Paterson (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/John F. Kennedy) from 10 yards out to make the final score 28-20 as the onside kick attempt failed.

Hairl finished with 104 yards on the ground, the second consecutive game that he has surpassed the century mark. Eric Treske (Cedarburg, Wis./Cedarburg) caught eight passes for 161 yards, including a 42-yard reception on a fourth down and 41 play in the fourth quarter. Bodnar connected on 22 of 30 passing attempts for 254 yards and two touchdowns.

Colin Makepeace (Cape Canaveral, Fla./Cocoa Beach) and Nate Rosenberg (Hortonville, Wis./Fox Valley Lutheran) led the defense with 11 tackles each.

Wisconsin Lutheran (1-5, 0-3 MIAA) will be back home at Raabe Stadium next week for its annual Homecoming game, taking on Kalamazoo College. Kickoff between the Warriors and Hornets is scheduled for 12 p.m.
